IMO the icons clutter up the display, so if you could tweek them away that would be great. Thanks, Polen

Disk Bar updating frequency?
I like the disk bar, but had to turn it off due to a quirk in it's behaviour that I found too distracting. Basically, the text in it continually flipped to updating, then would display the usual amount used/free, etc. This was happening every few seconds, while I was recording an HD feed at the time. Not sure if it does it when not recording. Is that expected behaviour, or something on my sstem?
Anyway, if it is expected behaviour, would lit be possible to change it to not say updating, and instead, just redraw the new amounts each time and update is available (instead of flipping to "updating...")? Hopefully that would be less distracting. thanks! |

Twieder,
I found a couple of bugs you might want to look at. First one should be an easy fix. When you Add red background to listings for currently active recordings, you have an old style v6 rectangle border around the listing. I would remove that border. Second, I noticed that when there is more than 8 or 9 recordings in a Group the right panel for group recordings only says there is 8 titles in the group and right panel list does not scroll as the animation goes through the list. -Polen

The red box was intentional, but I can see where it doesn't really fit the new scheme. I'll probably remove it in the next release. The scrolling I think is related to trying to get the sort working in that right pane. Gonna end up rolling those changes back, which should fix that too. Thanks -tw |

You can turn off the scrolling in system config. I forget the setting, but if you need it, I'll check.
I really like the sort. Rather than roll it back, can you make it optional?

Basically, I recently migrated to a new server, so in doing so hadn't configed everything yet. So I set it to enable the hidden extras by doing 5309 in SI menu. As soon as I do that, it stopped (since default then is malore diskbar on.) |

v0.7.5
A new version of this plugin has been posted to the repository. See the first post for release notes.
-tw PS -- thanks everyone for the input. I do read your suggestions, and try to work out how to best fit them into this plugin. |

I really like the change from the "rec" to the red bar but when I am in my recordings menu with folders of multiple recordings per show, i am unable to tell what is recording at a glance..i see the rec in the upper right hand section of the screen but would like to maybe extend the red highlighting to include the entire group of shows so that i don't have to go to the rec schedule to see what's recording. just a thought...

I like the changes! Thanks! It looks like the "overlap" of the red recording box has been fixed. Very nice
I see what Ericft is talking about... with the stock UI if you had like 10 recordings and were on that "series" as they cycled on the right and it got to one that was recording, the "REC" would flash on the left. Now, nothing happens on the left when the show that is currently being recorded is highlighted on the right. |

Wow! Thanks for the changes!
A few others that I miss... I also would like to be able to see at a glance whether a show's recording (a vote for the above). I miss the green lettering of recent recordings. Is there a way to bring something similar back -- make groups with new recordings stand-out and also the new recordings themselves. Thanks!

I like the changes as well - perhaps you could make something that is currently recording a fire engine red and a recent recording a brick red?

Twieder,
I'm not sure if you are considering my idea about treating single recordings like a group, but I found this line in Studio. (Size(GetSubgroup(Grouping, AbstractMedia)) == 1) && AutoCategorize When I change the 1 to a 0 then single rec. are treated like groups. You could add a var like this. (Size(GetSubgroup(Grouping, AbstractMedia)) == 1) && AutoCategorize && TwiederGroupSingle Not sure how to do that, I'm still a noob in the studio. Then in your config dialog you could have a yes/no for Treat Single Recordings like a Group. Thanks for your work, -Polen

Miss the easy identification of recent and current recordings like they were in malore (but love the UI refinement of the v7 menus) |

I have the episodes of each show sorted by Original air date, via the options menu. But it took forever to page through my shows.... so I looked at the plugin setup. The sort option was set to Intelligent, once I changed that to original air date . Seems fine, normal fast paging no wait cursor.
It's almost like each time I went over a series of shows the plugin was resorting what Sage had already sorted (the end result was correctly sorted however) Doh.. hopefully that makes sense.

Note that this plugin shouldn't need to sort the list in the info area in v7.0.10. The STV changes probably also affect other features here.

I can't remember if I posted this already, but one other thing I'd like to see would be something for groups that showed how many shows had been watched then "/" followed by how many total shows there are in that group.

A request / question
I too love these "tweaks". I have a question: between myself, the wife and the kids (2), we all watch some shows at different times. We can see that the show has been "watched", but we don't know by who. So we end up keeping shows on the box for a long time until we are all watching TV together, then realize we've all seen them.
Is there some way that there could be multiple "watched" icons. So that say I watch a show. I would set it to W1 or DAD or something. Then we could all see who's watched what and delete the shows we've all seen. Does this make sense? Anyone else have a similar desire? |
