I think Sage will follow the PS3 and the Xbox360 and release an HD200 Slim.

I love blue LEDs but they have no place in the bedroom or in a darkened living room. Way too bright/distracting.

well, nothing says they HAVE to be bright.. most just are because they look good in a showroom... Which we all know is all that REALLY matters...

Honestly, if the HD300 is being worked.....I really hope it updates to HDMI 1.3 or 1.4. I NEED HD Audio bitsreaming from my HD300 so I can sell my popcorn hour A-110.

They will make 'em. They will sell lots of them.
I say this because I planned to skip the HD200 generation so I need a reason to buy a new toy. |

Recall from Brent's long interview with Narflex that the design of the extender box and remote are based purely on what companies can supply Sage with what they need, to do what they are trying to do. They had originally contracted with the company that made the HD100s, and as time passed, they decided that there were some new things that were important enough to be "needed", so they found a new design that did all of those things, and contracted with whoever made it (hence the change in form factor). I also suspect that the development of v7 is pretty much taking ALL of the company's time (remember, they are a small operation), so they probably won't even think about revising the extender until v7 is stable and out of beta. And then, probably not until after a well-deserved vacation. On the other hand, the changes in v7 (as well as some tech features which are becoming important in the PVR arms race) may have necessitated the development of a new extender to go along with v7, and perhaps the Sage team already designed it, and ordered the mass production, and it just takes a few months for it to be ready? Maybe the "two months" will coincide with when they plan on v7 coming out of beta?

they are a small company. It is very conceivable that they can't afford to keep large stocks on hand unsold. In which case, a sudden increase in demand (like say, a new version of the related software being released shortly) can easily strip them clean - the first major release since most other competitors have left the market (BTV, for instance).

Yup - just found this thread after I had gone to order 3 HD200's and none are in stock now.. Really wishing I would have just ordered em up with my last group order a few months back now :S.. knew I was going to be needing them, just thought (ahh.. ill just order those 3 when I need em later)...
OOPS WOW - TIMING! - While typing this I just got the reply back from SageTV Orders "We should have more HD Extenders in the next month or two." Hmm.. no mention of HD200 - just "HD Extenders".. I'm putting my money down on new version coming - D2G |

5th? Man, I can't even get my first. They need to look into other distribution methods because they are losing out on quite a bit of revenue here.

+1 on someone waiting to order another extender. It never entered my mind they would not have them (should have known better).

If they are going on the 3rd gen, then they need to do some pre-orders to let them know how much they are going to need. Go qwerty remote on the 3rd gen *wishful thinking*
