Tmar89 Solution?
Tmar89 - Did you ever solve your no channels issue? I am dealing with the same problem now with my 2250 in Win7 32bit finding no channels even though WinTV 7 finds them all just fine.
If you figured it out I would love to know what the answer was. |

No, I never did. I just suspected it was a Sage 7 beta thing and when the release version came out it would be rectified. For now, I am sticking with my BTV setup until Sage 7 is usable.

I have Win 7 64 bit and 2 x 2250's and last night I had an issue of trying to get NBC in QAM up from FIOS of NJ. I tuned in NBC which is channel 4 on my lineup and ready to watch the end of the Colts v Redskins game and instead of seeing football, its a concert and I see the call sign in the lower right corner for PBS, which is channel 12 locally. So I tuned to CBS, channel 2, and that works, then tuned to ABC, channel 7, that works. Then I tuned to 504, which is the HD feed through my HD-PVR and FIOS cable box, that works and its the game. Then I tried NBC, channel 4 again and it worked to tune the game. This has happened to me before, as well, when Sage tried to record FOX's Fringe, channel 5, and I got the "The Three Amigoes" instead recorded from My9, channel 9 on the 2250. So there is something definitely screwy with QAM tuning and the 2250's in Sage 7.

These problems will never get fixed if you guys don't report the bugs to Sage via the bug report form. Then likely you'll have to send Sage some information on your systems as well as log files.

Exactly. That's what I did with my issue and after a few back-and-forth emails, log files, etc. Sage was able to determine the cause as well as the solution.

Fix the QAM tuner problem.
Try an update, it fixes the QAM tuner trouble on the 7.0.20. 7.0.21 (always used as an ATSC tuner).

Well. Today I decided to jump into the Release Candidate builds going from 7.0.16 to 7.0.22 on my WHS system. In return for making that leap, the QAM tuners on my two HVR-2250 cards are no longer functional, in the time I had before Sage resumed recordings again(completing in about an hour). I only managed to update the drivers(27118) to the most recent version(28162), with no change. QAM on the 2250's no longer functions for my WHS system with the most recent Release Candidate. NTSC tuning continues to work fine on them.
For my next step, I'll probably regress it back to 7.0.20 and see if QAM tuning resumes working, and increment forward until it breaks if it does work. Otherwise I'm incrementing back until I get one to work(or reverting to the .16 backup). Is the behavior of my WHS box a fluke, or did other people have theirs break on them with RC6(7.0.22)? |

I upgraded to .21 recently about 4 days ago and haven't experience any QAM problems on my 2250.

I upgraded from 17 to 22 today, and QAM in the 2250 didn't survive.

I'm having an issue with one of my 2250's under WHS. I upgraded my system to .21 (from .20) today, and some of my shows didn't record tonight because of tuner failures. Did you happen to figure out if it was .21? I'm still running the drivers that shipped with the cards, as I had problems with later drivers and haven't tried any recent ones... What is the best version to be running under WHS currently?

Looks like I might be regressing my box soon then (although I'm playing with the idea of ESXi & the Sage Linux MC on top of Ubuntu). Has anybody tried the dshowcapture.dll that was posted earlier in the thread on .21 yet?

I'm using the latest Sage TV 7 beta with the latest Hauppauge drivers and the 2250s with Digital Tuning (QAM) is working in Sage TV.

Edit: At least for my system, 7.0.21 appears to work on WHS when running the latest drivers. Last edited by Monedeath; 10-30-2010 at 02:03 AM. |

In our(WHS users) case, I think the relevant note is probably a close relation to this guy from 7.0.21, although gcamp0730 is reporting 7.0.21 as working for him: Quote:
Edit: Just tried 7.0.21 and it worked on my WHS system, both the initial install, and the patch for it that followed a few days later. Last edited by Monedeath; 10-30-2010 at 02:01 AM. |

Post sagetv log
Enable sagetv log in Setup, restart sagetv, reproduce the problem, post your sagetv_0.txt

cycled through 7.0.21(both builds), and 7.0.22(for a second round and error log)
7.0.21 is working on my WHS install. It seems to be that something in 7.0.22 is the culprit behind the broken 2250 QAM tuners in WHS. Last edited by Monedeath; 10-30-2010 at 02:46 AM. |

I attached mine. Shut down Sage, turned on debugging, then tried to tune into 2 different QAM channels, both failed, then shut down Sage. Running WHS, with the 26198 drivers currently.
