SageMyMovies Where does it go next?

For number 1, does that include support for the BMT fanart structure? If so, that's my vote. If I could use my already downloaded backgrounds and save myself the $100 it costs to get them through MyMovies, I'm all for it. I would like to see the Info View finished. All of that information is important to me when I'm browsing for a movie to watch. Being able to see who's in a movie and watching the trailer is how I pick which movie I'm going to watch.

No background support will be added soon using the bmt method.

Also for clarification sake it only requires 500 points for backgrounds not the full 2500.

Hey Plucky,

this is fantastic; I am a recent convert from Vista/W7MC and have been using MyMovies for a couple of years now. I actually think this is finally better in every sense than using Microsofts solution even though it continues to evolve.

The WHS, MyMovies and HD200 combination is a winner in my mind.

I have the following suggestions as I am split on which of the two options to vote for:

1) Home Video/SAGE TV folder separate view

We need a way to list/place into folders and/or filter the SAGETV folder (if its in the same public share as the movies) and any Home Videos. The SageTV 7 Video handling for other videos is very poor.

2) A Music Wall for CD rips (similar to Windows 7 Media Centre) would be an excellent addition given that CD metadata is easier to acquire than DVD metadata

3) TV Series handling in MyMovies (if Ortus is unable to deliver quickly enough) would be extremely handy

4) Minor Movie Management enhancements from the Client would be good
Is is possible for example to re-map a movie (using a metadata search dialogue) from the extender/client rather than having to go into Collection Management for this (sledgehammer to crack a nut if just the movie name on which is searched was wrong)

5) PRESET which view to default to on SMM - It always goes to the wall and I prefer the 3rd option as this shows the poster backdrops with a horizontal scrolling bar of movies.

6) Trailer option - Ability to stream trailers from Ortus/Apple solution (if its still working), Youtube or another source via the information window of the movie would be fantastic.

This is an absolutely fantastic application that is being used daily in my house. Thanks for this release...

Hey First welcome to Sage . I switched almost 2 years ago to sage from WMC and haven't looked back. You right the hd200 is leaps and bounds better then XBOX 360 extender.

1. This is on the list kind of a home video sort of view. Just now sure how I am going to implement it just yet.

2. I won't be doing that not enough time in the day

3.They are working on that at MyMovies when this has it depends on when they release it.

4. That would require allot more coding than I want to do. I would have to handling allot from within the interface and it wouldn't be instant because of caching by sagetv. I am also of the believe that management is best done outside the UI. So I probably wouldn't count on that one.

5. Read the wiki you can already preset which view defaults using favorites button.

6.Trailers are coming right now autoplay of a trailer folder is the only function in there.

I'll vote for multi-disc support and add some way of view rentals direct from a DVD drive. (I was supposed to add that second one to the wiki last week but have been too busy. I'm heading over there now.)

You can put the backgrounds you already have in the folder with the movie so you can have backgrounds without points. I forget what you have to name the jpg though.
