Where to buy cat 6 Eithernet cables?

I haven't bought Ethernet cables in a long time. I would like to buy some cat 6 Ethernet cables. A lot of people on the forum buy cables from one popular web store, but I forgot the name. I searched the forum, and couldn't find any posts for the web store. Where do you recommend buying Ethernet cables?

Dave

Best Buy. Staff is sharply dressed and knowledgeable. Tell them you need Monster brand because they are better manufactured from higher quality components.

And then go to monoprice. partsexpress.com and dalco.com are lesser known, but have good deals too.

Another vote for monoprice. And you don't have to be dressed at all to order from them.

Lucky! That's HUGE with monoprice since the only "ding" on them is their shipping is typically kinda high. In fact, their prices are so low that I find myself browsing around for other random things to order just so my shipping is not more than the cost of the things I'm buying. Seriously, I've ordered items that are so light that you think it's an empty box (cable adaptor jacks and such), and the S/H is, say, $8... and I'll add some other things that will be considerably more heavy (cable itself) and the S/H will end up being like $9. I almost feel like I need to "pad" my orders with heavy items to make it feel like I'm getting my money's worth on S/H charges.

When I was running CAT cable in the house for my HDHRs a few years ago, monoprice had 100' for, I believe, $10.99, and the only local brick-and-mortar that could find that carried 100' (Staples, I think it was) was $79.99. Monoprice S/H almost doubled my price, but the total was still about 25% of the local store.

The other option is you can buy cable bulk from somewhere like HomeDepot and get the connectors and terminate them yourself. HD carries the nice Leviton stuff. I wired my whole house that way, Leviton wall jacks and custom terminated cable. Though I bought my actual wire/cable at a inventory disposal sale.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know where I could order 6" or 12" RG6 F Type Cables, I checked monoprice, partsexpress.com and dalco.com but the shortest they have is 18". I'm looking for short cables to connect my HDHomeruns to the splitter.

Maybe I should try this Best Buy place.

Get a crimping tool and F commectors (you can get a good one at most home improvement stores) buy a 1 meter cable (or cut down an old cable) and make your own. In the long run it's cheaper and you get to add a new skill to your toollkit!

They do have 18" but if you want shorter go to HomeDepot or Lowes and get the stuff to make them yourself. They sell the ends, tools and cable separately. They are also more likely to have the cables as well. I would also try Radio Shack.
