Ughh, just missed the sale by 2 weeks
Can you please list the ports I need to forward to stream over the Wan for my iPad?
I seem to be missing something between my local wireless vs Wan
I am forwarding
80
8080
7070
9250-9259
9260-9269

If you haven't changed the jetty web server configuration, then it should be 8080. Though some ISP/phone carriers actively block this port...

Hi,

I just bought the app and it keeps quitting out on my iPad2. Also, the streaming doesn't work.

Are there logs somewhere?

Maybe wait a little on launch, so it can sync properly... Going to the TV page and waiting for it to stop counting is a good indication.

If it keeps going into some bad states, that might explain it. Are you seeing thumbnails in the Recordings list?

That's the bad part about iOS programming, there are no user logs and at best the crash reports can pin-point a single line where it crashed, but that might not be the actual issue...

Looks like I won't be able to take advantage of the sale. TiSageTV requires iOS 3.2, but my iPod Touch 1G doesn't support 3.2.

My apologies if you already address this, I have been looking but there are way too many threads to sift through.
You mention in one of your instructions to use a different port then 8080 to stream over WAN.
How would I change that, and do you have a specific port which would best keep clear of conflicting other applications to stream over WAN?

Also you mention: Warning: Make sure to use unique port numbers for the clients, the sage UI and each Extender. To use over 3G or remotely, you will need to forward all those ports (9250, 9260, 8080, etc.) through your router...
But is 8080 all that I actually need to forward in my Firewall?
regards

You would change it in the Jetty web server configuration. I seem to remember 7070, 70, 8000 as being other alternatives. Though the best way to figure out if it is needed would be to install the web server for mobile 2.0 and try to use it directly first...

If you only forward port 8080, you will only have access to the web server, you won't be able to connect to SageTCPServer, so won't be able to do anything on the SageTV Server/Client with the app...

Right, there are some nasty bugs in earlier versions of iOS, and it's a pain getting work around for some of the stuff that was not available back then.

It looks like all is working when I am in my own network, I am just having trouble figuring out what I am missing when I am outside my home.
Inside I get thumbnails but when I am going externally i do not get thumbnails.

Open up a browser and try to access

yourserver.ip.com:8080/apps

Try it from the lan with the local address, than try it with the external (3G) IP...

I get the SageTV Media Streaming Services prompt on both locations internal and external,
I dont get the thumbnails on both, and I see that you ask about the thumbnails in various replies. Are the missing thumbnails indicative of a possible stream issue?

OK, so that would mean the web server is available...

But that part should not be possible...

Yes, as they basically come from the jetty web server.

Mind sending me a PM with the external address (and any non-default parameters used) so I can try to connect and see if there's something odd?

Version 1.42

- More Remote control tweaks.
- Updated the Remote control buttons thanks to jorton.
- Now the Watch/Play/Live TV switch to the Remote control instead of the Status.

Missing plugin

I inadvertently deleted my TCP plugin from my Sage TV app.
The one that's available indicates the my version of Sage is not compatible, I would need to go to Sage 7.19? I thought 7.19 is in Beta?
Can I get the previous version of the plug in still?

Thank you

7.1.x was in Beta, but 7.1.9 went to release candidate right before the Google bought Sagetv and is now considered the final release.

Technically, I wanted to force everyone to get the latest SageTV release (7.1.9), so I could add thumbnails to the Program guide and so on, but then stuckless pointed out that those were not actually exposed through the public API, due to licensing issues with Tribune... So I guess I could drop down the requirement to SageTV 7.0.23, though the list of Conflicts wouldn't work right with it...

What do you mean by the list of conflicts wouldn't work right with it?

Is SageTV 7.0.23 still available to download?
Is 7.19 available to download?
Has 7.19 proven stable?

Because in SageTV 7.1.x they added an event when the list of Conflicts changes, so that's what I'm using to update... So if you run an older version of SageTV without that event, then of course no updates will ever happen...

Are users finding 7.19 stable so far,
Are there benefits to updating more then conflict reporting?
