Hello all, fairly new here. But just a few things I though I could add. Previously recorded tv streaming is entirely doable, via http live streaming protocol utilizing a transcoder,if necessary(ffmpeg) and then a segmenter. Because of this you will need a server process to handle this service.

LiveTv might be a lil trickier I'm not sure how ffmpeg would work with an open file that's still being written too.

Which is what I'm actually using through the Mobile web server 2.0... It's just not perfect yet...

Just a heads up for the current beta testers. The iPad-Preview version when used on iPad is missing about 50% of the functionality, but don't worry, that will get fixed. It is a universal app that does provide the same features on the iPhone/iPod as the previous releases, though it would probably crash on iOS 3.1.3...

I've updated the first post with some iPad sample images.

So the application is over 95% done...

- I need to resolve an annoying crash accessing the Media center section on an iPad.

- I will need a work around to start the streaming on an iPad, as it doesn't want to work the same way as the iPhone/iPod version.

- I am still waiting on the improved images that someone had volunteered to do 3-4 months ago, but I guess the current UI with no "retina display" improvements will have to do...

- Then I guess it's a question fine tuning to pass the approbation process from Apple.

If you guys are doing live streaming can you make sure to test that the transcoding process(ffmpeg) is stopped after you stop watching the content. Additionally perform a test of watching 1 show, stop it, and then watch another and make sure only 1 transcoding process is going.

The streaming is using the Web mobile Interface version 2.0 one, so will have the same issues... Or maybe more, as I have exposed more files then just the Recorded shows...

Sorry to be a nay sayer as well, but I definitely would not be interested in this for $30 unless it effectively mirrored the SageTV Placeshifter in every respect, including live streaming from within the app.

Hmm. Yeah.. That's a big one, it's partly why I dont watch media through the web mobile interface, its a pretty CPU intensive process to have running uncontrolled.

Well, Jason mentioned the streams being killed after 5 minutes, if they are not being watched, but I haven't really tested it.

What about an open source DLNA server such as PS3 media server or Serviio?

For the iOS version, I'd rather stick with jreichen's streaming, as he is using Apple's HTTP Live streaming and planing some improvements.

Now for my Android app, I might take a more serious look into it, and eventually compare each and figure out which is best...

Fair enough. I was just hoping of a way to get all my devices working together without having to run many different streaming servers.

Just won $30 in a lottery scratchoff. I wonder if there is an app that would relieve that money just burning a hole in my pocket.......

Well, it has been submitted to Apple for approval on Monday the 24th, though its status is still "Waiting for Review"...

It's alive! It can be found on the app store.

See the first post for some known issues. I'll be submitting an update tonight, which hopefully will get approved faster.

Try to get some support here before adding negative comments there...

I bought it, I am trying it out but I am having issues.

It seems like some of the lines in the sage.properties files are being deleted. For example, I entered the sageTCPServer/clients=local.9250 and I also entered the lines for three extenders, each with the proper MAC. But when I restart Sage only one of the sageTCPServer/clients=local.9250 is there.

A suggestion - how about automatically trying to get the extender MAC IDs from the extenders.properties files that most of us will have in our /webserver folder? Another source for them would be in SageAlert.

Can you have more than four clients?

Placeshifter isn't listed as a Client Type, why is that? Does that mean that this will not work for PS clients?

For streaming I assume that you have to enter your Sage Web username and password - that isn't clear from the docs.

When you say that "If you are running SageTV in service mode and also running SageTV as a client on the same PC..."

Does that mean that you are running the SageTV.exe ui on the server - I mean the basic SageTV server, not the Sageclient that is a different product.

Just finding this thread, so sorry if I am asking already known questions. Fonceur, your wiki say your app will do streaming video and I think I saw that it uses ffmpeg right? How does it work with hdpvr recordings and especially 1080i recordings?
