Hello everyone,

Im kinda looking for some hints and comments and hoping you guys can help me.

Im building a system based around a server linked to various network ports using CAT6 cable and gigabit switches. The server is P4 based and has a 1.6Tb SATA RAID 5 array using a Highpoint 1820 controller.

Around the house there will be PCs at some points and Neuston MC500's at others. The Neuston MC500 is a similar box in nature to the Pinnacle ShowCenter to the point where it seems to be software compatible as shown by products such as Oxyl Box.

Ive been playing with Sage TV 2.0 in conjunction with a Hauppauge PVR USB2 and I must say im very impressed with the product.

It seems to me at the moment that there are two ways in which I might fully integrate it into my system:

1) Via some kind of Web type front end giving a level of functionality on the Neuston boxes themselves

or

2) By recording programs using the PC based front end as it stands now and then passing the video files created into the directories created by the Neuston for it to play them.

Ive been able to test the latter option by manually copying files over and it works well.

Ive played with the archiving function and that almost does what I want but unfortunately the filenaming used is rather less than friendly when displayed on the set top boxes.

Ive looked around the forums and found some helpful information but im still lacking a clear route as to how to best achieve this.

Any help or ideas would be gladly recieved.
