Folks - I never bought any Client Licenses, because before HD I used the MediMVP's that I already had before Sage even supported them - then with HD, I went with the HD100's, and then a HD300. But - with the MediaMVP and HD100, you had to enter Licenses in the Server Software for the number of simultaneous connections you would have. I thought I had read at one time that those "Extender" Licenses were actually interchangeable with "Client" Licenses - as they were both actually just allowing remote connections into Sage.
So - does that actually mean that folks who adopted Extenders early, before the "built in" licenses of the HD200 and HD300 could actually have an advantage in that they can use the MediMVP and HD100 Licenses for Clients as well? Or, is a Client License explicit to being able to run the software itself on a PC? Sorry if all that is a stupid question - but I really thought I had read at some point in time that a Client License and a Extender License were technically the exact same thing... They both just enabled x number of simultaneous connections in to the Sage "Server" Software.... |

No, MVP and HD100 licenses are not the same as client licenses. They ARE however, the same as Placeshifter licenses.
