FYI. I did the SageDCT 2.0 upgrade and all is well. Removing the app/service via the control panel kept my configuration.

Well I can say my Prime lives again! Did a power reset on both it and the TA and things work great. Still not going to touch DCT 2.0 though, 1.9 is working great, and after yesterday, I've learned my lesson: if it aint broke, dont fix it!

SageDCT 2.0: I haven't tried the channel scanning feature yet, but otherwise it seems solid.

Just wondering, because my local cable co claimed ignorance when I asked about a TA. (Of course, this was the same one that initially said I couldn't do a self install of my MCard until I pushed the issue.) |

Comca$t
Comcast for me. They told me I didn't need a TA. I was skeptical after their previous attempt to mind-trick me.
COMCAST: *Gritting teeth* "You must do a professional install. You cannot self install a cable card." *waving hand* ME: "Your mind tricks do not work on me Darth CableCo. Give me my Mcard now, and stop waving your hand in the air. You want to feel the Force? How about I force my foot up your..." COMCAST: "Here you go. We never said you cannot self install a cable card." *motions* ME: "Okay..., whatever, thanks....Did you just waive your hand again?" COMCAST: "No." *waives hand* ME: *sigh* |

Please Help
So after reading all 14 pages of this thread, i believe i may be the only one still trying to get my Prime to work. i followed all the steps but when i try to tune a channel i get "no data" and the green light on the front of the Prime blinks green then eventually turns off and i have no idea why. Has anyone else come across a similar situation?

Solid for a couple of weeks now.
Thanks to Andy (and Zoop's firewall tip) my HDHR Prime has been running great for a couple of weeks now. Between 3 cablecard tuners and 3 QAM tuners the family has more than enough TV to watch. (And thanks to my cable company for not flagging ANY of my channels!)

Wait a sec here. ALL channels? As in premiums such as hbo, Showtime, etc?? Some other person on here mentioned that too, but I dismissed it cause I didn't think that could be true. |

So I was bored with nothing to do, and I decided to mess up my system by upgrading to sagedct 2.0 and the latest prime firmware 20111003beta2 I don't think anyone here has really installed it yet. But now I can't tune to any channels within sagetv. All 3 of the tuners within the The prime works fine within homerun quickTV app. I tried the usual removing the tuners within sage, regenerating the assignments and overwriting what was there in the sage.properties file. No dice. Setting the logs to verbose and it looks like sagedct is just plain ol not receiving a stream from the prime.
Below is the log of me trying issue a start and stop to record channel 189 through the sagedct service interface.. Code:

What is supposed to show correctly in the log when you do this through the sagedct control app?(I have the highest log setting on) My guess is that I shouldn't see "ProcessPackets: No data recieved" after it starts

So another firmware was released last night 20111008beta1 so i figured I would give that a try since nothing else was working. Still no good. I see that sagedct is sending the rtp commands correctly and getting back good responses (version, size, etc..) but when it comes to setting up playback there are some issues. It gets the tuner to to tune to the correct channel, but it's like it's not correctly accepting the playback stream. It works when using media player or quicktv to view the stream.

Have you tried the test mode within SageDCT to see if it is communicating with the Prime (VERSION, START, STOP, etc.)?
I'm running SageDCT 2.0 and it works fine. Haven't upgraded my SD software though lately.

Yup, like I said in my first post almost everything works except sagedct isn't saving/receiving the stream properly. Im pretty sure the prime must have changed something in how it sends the stream or something and sagedct isn't prepared for it. All the other commands work such as version, size, etc. Andy will have to step in here. Andy is it also possible for you to publish the source code of sagedct, I'm afraid if for some reason that u lord forbid were unable to work on this in the future we would have to start from scratch to recreate this functionality.

I can't find a changelog for what SD has done this week. You might want to make a post on their boards so they can get involved and track your Prime's log activity.

I've had windows fw disabled since the beginning. I figure it can't be the fw since all other commands are working except thencapturing of the video stream. I'm not sure how SD is gonna be able to help since all this is unsupported. Something has changed though on their end. We might need Andy to weigh in.

Arggg!!! This is ability to not downgrade is dumb. Damn cable labs!! I even went and switched a prime for another one. Even though you have the same cable card you still will have to reactivate it which is dumb yet again. Then of course as soon as I started up the hdhomerun configuration app it automatically upgraded the firmware so I'm right back where I started plus now have to reactivate the cable card. Only Andy I think can fix this through a software change on his end (hopefully it doesn't have to be on SD's end)
