Weird issue with some lookups..

So I have put my Stargate Universe blurays online now, and am having a few lookup/naming issues.

For season 1, the first 3 episodes are Air (1), Air (2) and Air (3) per TVDB.

However, on the bluray, Air (1) and (2) are combined into a single episode with Air (3) being another, and there is also a Air (1+2+3) Extended version in one episode.

I'm not sure there is a way to make looking up these files work? Suggestions?

I have currently named them:

"Stargate Universe - S01E01-E02 - Air (1 and 2)"
"Stargate Universe - S01E03 - Air (3)"

and

"Stargate Universe - S01E01-E03 - Air"

And they dont scrape 100% correctly. Is there anything I can do, short of splitting these out into 3 episodes manually? I know the TVDB series info is not going to change, and they dont have the combined 2 part or combined 3 part episodes listed, just the individual parts 1 2 and 3.

Link to the TVDB series is here: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=83237&lid=7

In situations like this I've opted to go the route of manually splitting the file into individual episodes. That way I never have to think about it again. If you used MKV container is really quick and easy to split them with MKVMerge without extra transcoding. Likewise you could use MKVMerge to make a MKV and then split it too... I've only used MKVMerge to make MKV's out of a couple of formats, so depending on your format this may not work. Give it try.

The easiest I've found is to use VLC or another player and find the chapter break you need and note the timecode and then in MKV merge you can enter the timecode of the split. Voila 2 files -- rename each with proper convention and you'll never have to worry about them again. Especially if you have something get corrupted and have to re import all your media.

Ok, I ripped my BD's with MakeMKV, so MKVMerge should be easy to do.

Once I split them, will each file then have its own chapter markers or will I lose chapter support?

BMT has no support for cramming multiple episodes into a single filename, so any of your S##E##-E## will fail 100%.

The only thing you can really do, is name them

Stargate Universe - S01E01 - Air(1) and Air(2)
Stargate Universe - S01E03 - Air(3)

This should allow bmt to at least fetch metadata and fanart for the first and third episode and then you can manually update the description on the S01E01 using the Web UI to note that it contains both 1 and 2.

Good question... I never use chapters so it wouldn't concern me. Try it with a copy of the original and see. I suspect your chapters would remain in tact...
