Wow, how sad. They didn't even post a correction: "Instead of big announcements on Monday we really meant just one lame announcement on Sunday. Sorry."

Well I guess I should feed the mill myself, I read this in Sound & Vision mag, awhile back, but here is thier post: http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/art...t-top-tv-boxes Read the NY Times report as well...
It supports everything I have read on this board so far... Last edited by Skybolt; 02-15-2012 at 06:20 AM. Reason: spelling |

The article also talks about Sony being onboard but, as we already know, Logitech has backed out as well (Although some say not?). I think the hardware is the easy part, Google appears to want to be a content provider for live tv as well. IMHO that also means subscription and possibly even DVR service which would also mean no local harddrive. My cable co. has already gone that route. Which is why Sage is so hard to replace when you capture via component and no copy protection (DRM). Not sure where Google is trying to go, and I could be way off base, but it sure looks like that. -Skybolt Last edited by Skybolt; 02-15-2012 at 11:41 AM. Reason: spelling |

We'd all agree that life would be simpler if the google thing never happened :-)

So on my lunch minute today I was browsing the latest Google Fiber Application for Video Services in KC, MO where I live and for some reason I suspect that our SageTV team is working with this Google Fiber TV Service thing.
Anyone see any reason they might have the old SageTV team working on a TV Service? I'm probably crazy here, but I don't think Jeff is just working on some new version of GoogleTV. I think it might be something different than that. |

I don't think that the purchase of Sage, Motorola Mobility and the KC Experiment is coincidence.
There's been a lot of talk for a while about Google offering "real" TV services and I think Sage in a Moto DVR would not be either far fetched or bad Then it could all eventually be tied into GoogleTV.Kinda wish I still lived there
