Sorry I am delayed in responses. I'm a utility worker and am doing 12 hr shifts 7 days to deal with storm issues. Sage has picked a bad time to crash for me.
I have now completely wipped the c drive clean. I moved anything FREY or SAGE onto a backup drive. I have just installed a brand new licensed windows 7 32bit. Went 32 because of video cards. I have to make a choice tomorrow to insall SAGE 7, repalce the wiz and property files from my backup then do a SAGE 9 upgrade OR Install sage 9, replace the wiz with my backed up wiz and hope it converts it. I am not concerned about retaining themes and com skip. I can install and config them manually. What I want to keep is: - Previously watched info - Favorites - The ability for it look at my recording & DVD image directories and make the content accessable as it did in vs 7. It would be nice if thevs 9 comskip would recognizze the exsisting comskip stuff in my sage recordngs directory. It should if I use the sane plugins. My gut is to install vs 9, repalce the wiz and hope for the best |

Yes, your best bet is to simply install sagetv 9 from scratch, and go through the setup completely, adding your sources, and recording/import folders, then shut it down, a drop your backed up wiz.bin in there. Sage will take a while to upgrade it, but once it does, it will then scan and reconnect the info in the database to the new file locations.

Done that and my favorites etc are back. Probably wouldn't be a good idea to move properties file across I'm guessing. Was thinking about it so I wouldn't have to remap all my channels manually and reconfigure all my malore menus.
Still don't have a working guide yet. I see the channels but they are all "No Data". Sent a private email to Narflex in the hopes he can take my Sage registration key and find out why. I have 2 days before my trial Schedules Direct expires. From reading the forums I don't wnat to install schedules direct if my Sage license still entitles me to EPG. Thank you for all your help to get me this far. Been doing the Sage think for 12 years and I am too attached to give it up Dave |

I've been trying that but it won't accept my username and password when I try to access it through Sage. I did the procedure in the command prompt and can see my 2 scheldules if I run the info command but I can't get sage to get it.

Go figure, Found another posting in the forum saying you can't have a password starting with a number. I changed my password to all letters and it worked. Now I waiting to see if the guide populates.

to be clear, you CAN have a password with a number, it's just the entry in sage is 'hard' to do with numbers - you have to remember how to enter them via the d-pad entry.

I'm going to start a new thread regarding my current upgrade problems. Thank you for the help you all gave under this thread.

the very start of the thread mentioned you needed an extra license (?) if you had two tuners with independent lineups. Is that still the case, or have things changed now that v.7 is on the way out. With the EPG finally coming to an end, It's time to adopt SD, but I'm confused about the number of tuners I have, and if it's going to require TWO, paid subscriptions per year.
That would be problematic. Thanks

I see a problem today that some channels are missing from the sagetv guide. Channel 837 AETVHD recorded last night with the correct channel and show info. But today the channel is gone from the guide. When checking to add the channel in the setup videos sources the channel is there, but there is no description of what channel it is. It's just the number.
So I deleted the epg file and kicked off a refresh. It created just a 2Mb file compared to the 25mb that was there. did something change last night? thanks for any help. here is the log: 2017-04-11 11:40:43,833 INFO [Plugin]: EPG refresh started for Comcast Georgetown - Digital Haverhill (Cable) 2017-04-11 11:40:43,833 INFO [Plugin]: EPG refresh forced by user! 2017-04-11 11:40:45,747 INFO [ProgramGenerator]: Processed show generators in 0ms 2017-04-11 11:40:45,758 WARN [EpgDownloader]: Skipped local cache backup; it doesn't exist! I've forced a refresh of lineups on the server; if you're still seeing an issue with lineups not having the correct number of channels, please open a ticket at the Schedules Direct website.

I'm still seeing the issue, so I opened a ticket with SD. Hopefully they can figure it out.
thanks
