I can't hear the fan on the 4gb slim when the TV is on. I was under the impression that the Echo had a longer bootup time than the Xbox.

Good news! After I got access to SageDCT 2.7.2 and switched the capture method, I was able to get everything working! Sage still lives in my house!

I think I'm still going to keep my WMC/Echo combo, though, for copy-protected shows. I must say I was hesitant about the Echo because of negative reviews, but it's really not a bad product. It's not as snappy as the HD200/300, but it gets the job done.

Thanks everyone for the extra prodding to see if I could get past this hump. I know the day will still come when I do pull the plug on my Sage extenders for good, but I'm glad that day is not today.

Glad to hear it. Andy has personally kept hundreds of Sage extenders and servers in operation the past year or two.

Totally the best route, and GameStop has them for $99, in store refurb's/trade ins. I just picked up two more for that price this week.
