Thanks for the orders coming already!
A couple questions I've seen already in emails: Shipping is included where it says it is included (for US orders). Also, as noted, extenders come with remotes. You don't need to order another one unless you want an extra. And, there are no other items than what was listed. Andy

Out of curiosity, how many HD300s and HD200s are you making immediately available?

I've replied to this emailed question, but to clarify for everyone: ordering another one for a friend is considered a second unit in the case of running out, or else everyone could say the 2nd one is for a friend. Sorry, but the friend has to submit their own order. Thanks.

A question
A question
I sent email with the information which you requested as soon the announcement went out today. I read about it and emailed it out on my cell phone while at work So in five days, you will be sending out Paypal receipt for us to pay for it? How about those who only order one? Would they be shipped before 5 days? I only ordered one extender and a remote so I am just wondering. Thank you Bill

For now, all I'm doing is sending an email reply confirming that an order has been received. I think the HD200s are all spoken for by now, though. Andy

Update: there were not many HD200s & they are all spoken for.
The spare remotes are almost sold out. There are still HD300s remaining, so the multiple unit orders can still get filled so far. Andy

Hey Andy!
It doesn't look like I received an email confirmation (but my phone email has been acting up so who knows?). Can you please check to see if you have an order for bfranker@tampabay.rr.com for an HD300 and extra remote? Thanks! Last edited by Brent94Z; 04-18-2015 at 10:57 PM. |

Okay. I gotta ask (while looking the gift horse squarely in the mouth), why so much more expensive than the original pricing?
I'm trying to get my brother on-board for the next wave of SageTV and recommended that he pick up an HD300 but he balked when he saw the price. Seems to me that Google had long since written off the idea of selling these to future customers when they introduced their own Google Fiber hardware. Were these units not part of the acquisition by Google? It seems a bit nickle and dime(y) for them to want to profit from this open source movement. Although I don't know how much they paid for SageTV so maybe they need the money to pay for Jeff's salary! Of course Google owes me nothing and I'm glad these are available and have placed an order, but something just doesn't feel right about this. -uberpixel

Yes, I realize that the price is higher than it was previously, but that is for a few reasons. Among which: First, they are being sold at what seems to be the market price, or lower, than what people receive when they sell their used extenders. Then, the last time some new ones were sold at a lower price, they sold out so fast that many who wanted to buy were not able to do so, while several buyers made their own profit by turning around and selling their new extenders on ebay for a much higher amount. Finally, when Google contracts someone to sell excess inventory, they don't just give the stuff away; in short, that means that I'm receiving less markup per unit than in previous sales.

that's what I wondered...the HD300's were $150 when Google took over? Seems like a price hike of some magnitude for a product four years out of development

BTW: I've tested an HD300, HD200, and spare remote; they all work, but the extenders obviously need firmware updates.
Someone asked me recently what the biggest difference I thought there was between the HD200 and HD300. I have to say that regardless of any technical differences, the biggest thing I noticed right away is that the UI responsiveness is much faster on the HD300. Andy
