Yes, that is the obvious one, but the number isn't the end-all priority that trumps all else. I might still go with it.

I don't think the name matters much, and changing it is going to cause more confusion.

My 2cents
"Preference" probably better describes it than "Priority" John |

I would say "priority" but then the numbering would be backwards. (I would expect priority 1 to be preferred over priority 2, merit works the other way.) Maybe "preference"?

I too like 'preference'.

I think this may be on topic, would it be possible to add a button to enable/disable tuners? I've had occasion where I would like to disable a tuner but can't without removing it, or am I missing something?

Tuner "weight" in place of merit. The heavier the weighting(larger the number), the more likely it is to "win."

I'm not convinced any of these are any easier to understand than "merit."

Merit has the advantage of being the long established term, so leaving it alone is unlikely to confuse established users.

Thanks for all the comments. I just went with Merit Priority Value for the Source Details setting... trying to keep the existing known reference and tell new people that it affects prioritization. And, the dialog where it can be changed tries to explain it.

The core support for this has been added and the STV has been updated in git now too.
The STV has the merit sorting/editing capability (but you have to enable it first in Detailed Setup -> Customize) and an option to show the parallel schedule with the tuners listed on the left side column, among other tweaks. Edit: but if you are going to use this new STV, you'll need to make sure to use a core Sage.jar that was built after this STV was changed. You would need to either build it yourself or use a download for a later build. Edit 2: The STV is now part of the Sage.jar download in a zip file; see this sticky topic for the download. Andy
