There is a CA Backup And Restore Plugin that allows you to backup your Appdata Share as well as libvirt.img and Flash Drive. It can be setup to automatically stop your dockers and backup everything then start them when it is done.
I have this backup happening to an AppDataBackup share on the server. Then I just file copy the Flash backup off-site or another computer for safekeeping the configuration files in case the USB stick dies.

I use that plugin except I don't move the Flash backup like you do - I should probably write a cron job to do that every week.

I just backup all of my unRAID servers flash drives to my backup server and the backup server flash drive to one of the others. So I'm covered except for a major catastrophe.

Anybody else give this a go yet? I might try the upgrade tomorrow night.

I didn't get a chance to do this last weekend but I hope to give it a go over the next week.

It honestly didn't take me a half hour to backup my usb and update to 6.4 - I was worried as well reading some of the upgrade stories in the Limetech forums.

Yeah I know. I like to do this stuff after everyone else has gone to bed. I have had other "easy" upgrades that went bad and I ended up being up until 5am trying to fix everything and I didn't want to face that this weekend.
But I shouldn't really worry too much as I do have a backup server with 95%+ of the content on my main server. So I can just point my extenders to that server and be good to go. By the way Dwight - how does the MiniClient work in your Sony AndroidTV?

The mini client appears to work fine BUT I have an HD300 on the set as well and tend to use it mostly.
Not real pleased on the audio pass through of the Android system on the Sony. I gave up due to some audio issues with different movies such as DTS etc. Same with the Plex app and transcoding and audio pass through issues. I made an Odriod C2 with OpenPHT for plex and it is awesome - can play 4K with no transcoding and pass through all audio formats perfectly. That said the Android system would be fine with curated content adjusted for that system. Dwight

So it doesn't pass through DTS, etc from SageTV, Plex or from other content as well? Do you have the TV's audio out connected to a receiver via ARC or S/PDIF?

I was using ARC to a Sony HTST5000 sound bar. It was quite a while ago and I can’t really remember just what formats were passed through. I gave up on it fairly quickly as it was just too easy to keep using the HD300.

I hear you - I still prefer the HD200 and HD300 as a way to play my SageTV content. But having one source that plays everything you would want is very attractive, especially if it is built into your TV.

6.4.1 pre-release is out and they expect to go stable release by the weekend. Looks like it has a few bug fixes and improvements in handling complex VLANs but they probably are not significant for most of us.

I upgraded to 6.4.1 and everything appears to working. At first my HD-PVR tuners didn't show up but that is because I did not properly undate the DVB edition. You have to remember to click on the plugin and go in to the detailed screeen to select the version that you want.
I also had to do a bit of config on my USG router to handle the SSL certs. I have not set up my Sage docker in its own IP, at least not yet, but I have tried the functionality for a couple of other dockers and it works great.

I did the upgrade Friday night and there have been no issues so far (no DVB plugin). Now I'm playing with Slugger's "safe to backup" Groovy test script and how to marry that with some other script under unRAID to perform the backup i.e.stop the Docker, run a tar then start things again. I tried the CA Backup v2 bit and will keep that for some things, but for SageTV I don't want it to shut down at some preconcieved time or time zone!

I have my CA backups run at Monday mornings at 3am and I don't have any issues as I don't foresee having any recordings at that time.

It's mostly for viewing. My schedule and travel are all over the place lately. Plus my night-owl daughter goes to university in the fall so who knows when she'll be streaming something .

Just snagged the HDHR Quatro on eBay tonight and currently waiting on a quote for a dual 3U 16-bay E5-2650v2 Supermicro system for unRAID. This will be the first major system update in at least 6 years for me - excited.
I'm not sure I'd have considered unRAID and dockers if it weren't for people constantly bringing it up in sub-forums here - THANKS! Glad I didn't drop any $$ on another proprietary NAS. Soon it'll be time to unload the Hauppage PCI-e cards and tear down the 6-bay ReadyNAS Pro.
