Useful program - MCE Connector
I just came across a program called MCE Controller. This could be useful to SageTV users as it lets you control a PC over the network via commands sent to an IP port. If you have a remote control that can send IP commands then you could use it to start SageTV or SageTV client and control your PC.
Quote:
MCE Controller lets you control a Windows HTPC (or any PC) over the network. It runs in the background listening on the network (or serial port) for commands. It then translates those commands into actions such as keystrokes, text input, and the starting of programs. Any remote control, home control system, or application that can send text strings via TCP/IP or a serial port can use MCE Controller to control a Windows PC.

This was written over a decade ago to allow control of a PC from Crestron Home Automation systems. My usage is similar - I want to control HTPCs from a Control4 Home Automation system and my remote control can cause my controller to send IP commands.
edit - I originally had the name wrong. It is MCE Controller - not MCE Connector.
