Wow, Impressive. Sorry to cause you guys so much work. I thought I would revisit this thread to post that since I made that suggested properties edit I am not seeing the odd timestamps anymore and things are working OK.

Should i change that back after get the next version of code that has the java fix? I really have no idea what that properties edit really does and whether I should revert it then.

Thanks for all your help! The change really helped with the WAF. -Bill

I would change it back with the next version. Fast switch allows back to back shows on the same tuner to have no missing data. With the setting off, the system takes a couple seconds to close one file out and start the next. It mostly affects live TV viewing where there’s a small pause between shows.

I could probably send you the jar file if you wanted to patch earlier but it doesn’t sound urgent.

Still working perfectly 3 weeks after making the properties change! No more 1/2 red/green bars since. All the modified timestamps have been correct since then.

Yeah, the code change Narflex made has been running in my system for 2 weeks and I have no bad file timestamps either, with fast switch still on.

Again, the only downside for you with that setting off is a slight loss of data between shows which is usually only noticed when viewing live. You will also miss a little if you have 'remove back to back padding on favorites' enabled where it keeps the same tuner but has to reset in between instead of hot-switching the file.

How often do new builds come out? Seems like I installed 9.1.8 a very long time ago. -Bill

I'm not sure, it's been 10 months since the last build and there have been quite a few commits since then.

The last release showing on Github is 9.1.6. The last build of the Docker is using 9.1.7.581. I'm personally running the very latest jar build in my Docker, 9.1.9.778. That's nearly 200 commits ahead.

We currently do not trigger off the release nor set it automatically so it has been left behind. I do not have access to change it.

9.1.8 was a windows only release so nobody bothered to build the Linux one.

I committed 9.1.9 which will cause the Linux build to run automatically.

I also started the manual process and built the windows installers....they are uploading now.... when done I will create a post.

Came here wondering if there had been an upgrade since my 9.1.5, and discovered there had been 4! An upgrade notification process that relies strictly on my remembering to check is completely unworkable for me, so I'm wondering what the current recommendation or process is for upgrade notifications? Might be nice for the program to check on a weekly basis a fixed location for current SageTV version.

I did enjoy the debugging discussion earlier in this thread, partly because I too have had problems with timelines off by an hour, half-red/half-green.

While I'm here (but off-topic), my one really nagging issue is that the mouse back button does not work, and I have to reach for the keyboard backspace often. It worked in SageTV 6 and 7 and it works in all browsers. Is there any chance that will be fixed (mouse back button enabled as Back)?

I’m probably outside the norm but I’d rather stay on whatever version I have until something is fixed that I care about. The ‘ole “if it ain’t broke...” I can see the value in a notification for those who like to stay current, however.

As for the extra mouse buttons, I don’t think Sage ever supported those natively and I only see mouse events for the 2 main buttons. Are you sure there isn’t some kind of mapping you can do in the mouse driver to send those as keyboard commands?
