I'm totally rewireing my central wiring closet - after years of letting it get out of control. So while my network and SageTV server are up, my cable card tuners are offline. However I can still use the Shield to access the Sage server and view recordings on my server.
I also have a full time VPN tunnel to my parents house and I can access their Sage server and view live content just fine using the Shield. So whatever issues my be affecting people, it hasn't hit my system yet. I actually just upgraded my SageTV server to Windows 10 yesterday as part of this "cleanup".

I had missing logos in the guide data too. I noticed that the guide would lock up when I was scrolling just as I was going to view the missing logo in the guide. I found the missing logos I had and put them in the ChannelLogos folder on my server and then stopped and started the SageTV service and now everything works fine with the guide now.
Not sure if this is fixed for good or not but I wanted to let they group know what seemingly solved my issue.

Where did you get the logos? I don't have any and I'm not certain where they go anymore.
EDIT: Never mind, I found them. That fixed it for me as well. Last edited by toricred; 04-25-2020 at 07:39 PM. |

Here's where I got them https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/Catego..._United_States . I'd really prefer it if we could just disable them as that was a lot of trouble.

Can someone elaborate on the fix procedure? I believe we have to put logo files into the ..\SageTV\ChannelLogos folder - but can they be in .PNG format? Files have to be named according to the lineup channel names in sage.properties, right? for example in my lineup, the AMC logo would be called AMCHD.PNG The last time I put custom logos in SageTV was a long time ago - I have a lot of logo files from 2010, but they are in .JPG format with the naming as described above.

Once upon a time you did have to provide your own channel logos, presuming that you wanted them. But then they started to be pulled automatically, I believe this was related to the guide data that was originally from SageTV's own process and later from Schedules Direct.

Last night, I was able to fix the problem by downloading missing logos for channels or removing them from the guide. This morning, my father reported that SageTV is now working at his house, but I did not yet download channel logos for his server, so apparently something happened (probably with Schedules Direct) - has anyone else noticed that this problem is now fixed?

This fixed it for me ... Shutdown sagetv Moved out the wiz.bin and wiz.bak to a temporary folder. Started up sagetv .... waited for guide data to populate took a while. Shutdown SageTV Copied over the original wiz.bin and wiz.bak Started up SageTV all is great.

Old URL https://s3.amazonaws.com/schedulesdi...1_ll_h3_aa.png New URL https://schedulesdirect-api20141201....1_ll_h3_aa.png You will notice the old URL has an “Access Denied” error. The URL used to work without problems. Not sure if this is a Schedules Direct plug-in error not picking up the changes and not sure how this would effect Android Client. Unless the Android Client try’s to directly download the logos? Dean

The miniclient does not directly download images, except via APIs to the sagetv server. Now, if say, the code that downloads icons stored "abc.png" as an xml error, and then sagetv abc.png to the miniclient telling it that it is an image (when it is not), then likely the miniclient could blow up.

I can't say for sure... but my guess is that a 0 size png would cause an issue. I haven't looked at the code in a very long time, but since sagetv is sending the client the files to show, it's likely that there isn't a lot of error checking around the validity of the files.

I remember a long time ago we had an issue with the Mini Client not displaying certain images. We determined that there was a change in the android libraries which no longer render certain files. We just re-saved the files which fixed what ever format issue there was in the file. This very well could be an easy fix. Josh |
