Sounds like you're having the same problem that I'm having. There is a bug in this STV that causes the font in malore style sage recordings to use basefont size from the sage.properties file instead of the font size from the malore menu options. The reason that the fonts dissapear is because the field size it's using is from the malore settings. If you go into detailed setup and change the font size for malore menu's to 16, the text *should* stay. nielm said he would fix this when he gets back from vacation. For more info read some of the posts from earlier in this thread.

weatherconfig example

First, I would like to thank nielm and others for their efforts with Studio. I am particularly enjoying the weather configurability and menu customizations.

I am attaching my weatherconfig.xml file in the hopes that it will be helpful to someone else. I have changed the locations (to Saratoga, Providence, New York and Los Angeles) and added the area Infrared images from WeatherBug. (Note that the extention .txt has been added to weatherconfig.xml.txt to facilitate the attacment.)

I am not endorsing WeatherBug particularly, just using it as an example for adding to the menus in the weather module. WeatherBug is at: http://ww5.weatherbug.com/Pages/Esi/...ebwx_zip=10001

What I have found is that these sites don't always use the obvious location IDs. For example where "nyc" points to New York City for AccuWeather metro views they then go and use "vny" for Los Angeles! You have to look carefully at the URLs in their HTML source to figure out how they are addressing different areas. So, you can't count on airport identifiers or zip codes to be used consistantly.

Hope this is helpful.

Lynn

Font size question

Now for a minor problem I am having.

Per the attached screen shot I have been unsuccessful altering the font size for my recordings view. I have selected mlbdude for the view style and somehow the times are all shifted off screen. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

I think it was ok before I made the last changes to the menu structure but I can't seem to get back to where I was!

Thanks,

Lynn

Thumbs up

If anyone is interested, I have attached my weatherxml (renamed to .txt) for Singapore and South east Asia.

It grabs separate info from weather.com, the Singapore nea and the geo-stationary satellite.

Still waiting to get MlbDudes OSD and mini-guide on before I deploy on my main system.

This is cool.

jimmyb, if you post the STV and your properties file, I'll see if I can reproduce and/or find the problem when I get home from work tonight.

Unless Niel has a serious trick up his sleeve, I think the answer will be no.

You can put a .txt extenion on the properties file to upload it. Among other things, I wanted to double check that the STV file did not get corrupted...

I was hoping to have the STV as well, but for now, the first problem I see is that the file you posted has this:

wizard/widget_db_file=C\:\\Program Files\\Frey Technologies\\SageTV\\STVs\\OriginalV2\\MalDude.stv

That's the wrong STV.

yes, but when I change that line to nielm.stv it then loads the original STV. This is the one i am watching now. I believe that is all I am to change in the property file?

a) I guess you're certain that you really are looking at the original STV and not the nielm STV (they have the same looks)

b) If the forum won't let you upload the STV as is, just put a .txt extension on the end of it (or put it in a zip file).

It may be (I'm not sure) that SageTV falls back to the original STV if it cannot load the specified STV. You might try moving or renaming the original STV to ensure that it is not loaded. At least that will allow you to prove to yourself that the original STV is being loaded.

I say original because it has none of the graphic icons as in MalDude (png) and it is the plain menu with no PIP window. Also I did change the original.stv to rigina.stvl so I have no idea how it is loading. guess I start from reloading .. thx any way

if you do not close SageTV (not just put to sleep) the changes to the properties file will not take effect

Yahoo!!!

Got it to work. Seems that there is a line in the properties that states "dynamic menu = false". Remembering that this is what nielm was bragging about I changed to true and VOILA!!

Thx for caring guys. Once again a kick a app.

Great STV by the way. 1 thing right now:

1) I like the 2-pane recordings view from MLBdude. The only one you have for this is "old". Can we have the new one which has fixed some navigation issues among the panes?

(and eagerly awaiting comskip to be added aswell for the ultimate STV)
Thanks

Agree with the last poster, need Commercial Advance to be integrated too but also be able to interface with the FIEL_DUMP from mlbdude so we can use with MediaMVP.

Thanks!
