I am setting up my HTPC and plan on using sage and am basing the the setup from a DVB-S card. I must say I am new to the DVB scene but am an expert in HTPC setup and computer hardware and programming. I guess I have a few questions for yoja.
Does the setup you are describing basically give you all of Sage's functionality (Pausing, Recording, Timeshifting etc.) with the DVB-S card? Does the software provide support for multiple satellites using a motor or switch that conforms to the DiSEqC standard? Could please just elaborate more on the basic functionality of the setup you are using? I am sorry if these questions are basic or obvious as I noted I am a bit new to the DVB scene. Thanks for all the great work so far. Thank you, crazyninja |

I've mailed AndersNolberger if he can put the modified SDVBCoreRecorder on his website.
I hope he does this so I don't have to mail everyone who wants to give it a try. |

yoja sent the file up to yonda's site - anyone successful with this and dvb-s skystar 2?
I can't seem to get the channels tuned. I downloaded MT3.12 but the dvbcore there isn't the exact one needed - anyone have the correct dvbcore.dll - is that the problem yoja? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - I see sage connecting to sdvbcorerecorder with NOOP. but nothing else after that - can't set up channels. |

If the only thing you see in SDVBRecorder's debug window is noop then Sage is not trying to tune with it. The problem should be with channel setup or the line up for the tuner. Do you have any other capture cards? Try to disable it to see if Sage choose DVB instead and make sure that there are channels configured for the card.

actually - now I've gotten it to say
GET_FILE_SIZE DualIdentity-343157-0.mpg 12:05:05 AM over and over - it's not able to tune to write the file tho... I'm using the modded version for DVB-s which seems to tune via AVBroadcast - I'm not sure how to set up the channels for that. |

I dont have any DVB-S card so I have not tried Yoja's changes. Perhaps someone else can help.
I think you must have the 2004-02-21 version of DVBCore.dll. I will not host that on my site since it is not an official release. |

getting closer
well, thanks to yoja's and ander's work - I've gotten pretty close to getting this thing working. I have the sdvbcore broadcasting with Avbroadcaster - and sagetv picks up the feed and can record the feed. However, I can't seem to correctly set up the channel so that SageTV will change the channel -
any advice, yoja? thanks both of you for your work - this is getting interesting! |

Can anyone confirm if they've managed to get the Hauppauge Dec2000-t working with SDVBCoreRecorder? I've seen it mentioned, but can't see any results.
Thanks. |

I managed to get it to work with the Hauppauge Nova-t, but not the DEC2000t.

OK - Thanks. It looks to be a DVBCore issue as there is a thread on their forum about the 2000-t. Hopefully they will get it working and then I can use it with SDVBCoreRecorder.
Cheers. |

multiple DVB recorders.
I currently have DVB recorder working with a single DVB-T card. I will shortly be turning the pc into a server and adding a new client, to run sageTV. I'm sure this will work as DVB recorder is already running as a network tuner. However I would really like to add a second tuner, on to the same pc as the first, and so have multituner support for DVB-T. Is this possible with DVBRecorder or DVB Core.
Can it be the same tuner (Tecnotrend) or will it not work at all. thx RD |

Is there a list of supported cards somewhere that this plugin can use? Is it possible to use a DVB card and a PVR-350 on the same machine or do you have to have the DVB card on a seperate machine to use it as a network device?

The server use DVBCore from MyTheatre 3.12 so it should work with all DVB-T and mayby DVB-C cards that is supported by that.
I dont know about the DVB-S modifications by Yoja. As for multiple tuners. I have not tried it but you should be able to install two instanses of SDVBCoreRecorder with different .ini files. In it you can set which device to use and at what IP-port it shold communicate with Sage. But as I said I have not tried this since I only have one card myself. /Anders |

I must say that this is very intressting, i realy want to use a DVB-T card instead of external box. Im just curios of witch cards you are using, and since AndersNolberger lives in sweden that would be very nice to now what card you are using and if you are watching more channels than the free ones, i want to watch all channels.

Has anyone tried DVBrecorder with the 2.1 Betas? Should it work ok?
Thanks!! |

I've been testing some code changes to SDVBRecorder and It works fine with 2.1 betas. They're are some new SageTV Network Encoder commands in 2.1, but any messages related to them in SDVBRecorder can be safely ignored at this point.
Cheers Peter |
