meekell_alpha_0_2_5 Release Notes:

* Fixed: Mouse selection in guide. Still need to support paging (up,down,left,right).
* Fixed Mouse selection on home screen.
* Added new property "meekell/channel_style" This allows the user to select how they want to display the channel ids. Settings are: "num+name" (default), "num","name","logo","logo+num"
Getting the mouse to work as expected wasn't as trivial as one would think. It took a lot of altering but I was able to get the look almost back to normal. I'll have to add some sort of method to allow you mouse users some way of browsing up, down, left, right.

just a thought but what about a video preview on more than just the guide?
is there anywhere you could add this?
I've been thinking about this for a while. I initially had a preview in the recordings menu, but could only get it to work occasionally. I had it on the right side. I'll probably try to get this working again. I agree, it's nice to have the preview window.

the picture library is awesome looking
Cool! I'll gladly take any suggestions that would improve the look and feel. One thing I'll be adding is when the user selects an image, I want to show the image fullscreen and allow the user to browse the rest of the images in fullscreen.

Conflict resolution displays the options but choosing an option has no effect. It immediately gives me the conflict pop-up again. The Mlbdude skin does not show the conflict icon (not sure what part of conflict resolution is in Sage and what is in the Stv)

This particular conflict was not really a conflict - I had one show from 18:30 to 19:10 and another one from 19:00 to 19:40. I always want it to record the second one. At the time I was looking it was 19:20 so the conflict was already gone.

Maybe it is a side-effect of activating your Stv half-way through the show - I don't know. Also I'm looking on the client and the server screen does not show a conflict.

On the other hand I really like the way this one looks so I'm looking forward to when my recording finishes to explore the Stv further.
Wierd...I forced conflicts on my client yesterday, and they were resolved by selecting an option. If you can't get this to work, I'll probably add a option to disable the popup conflict resolution until we get this worked out. I basically copied the conflict resolution from the OriginalV2 implementation, but put it in a options menu. It should be handling it the same. Let me know.

I couldn't get it to work either...but then, I can't get it to work on the OriginalV2 STV either, for some shows, so that may be the issue. For me, it particularly happens when there are more than one favorites conflict in the same slot (i.e., three shows). For example, if I have Seinfeld on channel 4, Friends on channel 7, and Raymond on channel 17, it gives me the normal conflict notice. Say I manually tell it to record Seinfeld on channel 4. I'll get a conflict notice for Seinfeld vs. Friends or Raymond (whatever), and will choose to keep the Seinfeld manual recording. That's no problem. But then I get a conflict notice for Friends vs. Raymond, and no matter what I tell it, it won't go away (regardless of the fact that I manual set Seinfeld to record). I'm not sure if that's the same issue in your STV or not, but I do run into that with the Original all the time. So it's not that it's not doing anything (though that could be), but it seems like certain settings just aren't overriding others.

That's good to know. So there will be certain times where you would like to just ignore the conflicts and let Sage handle them however it decides? I'm going to try to emulate the conflict based on what you wrote.

Well, not necessarily just the way Sage decides, but rather whichever you tell it to give priority (for example, if something is manually set to record), that should trump all other instances. Having a "notification" is nice, particularly in cases where you might set a manual recording not realizing/remembering that there is a favorite at the same time. But there has to be a way to get rid of the notification when you want to. That is, if I get a notice that tells me there is a conflict, and then I decide I want to keep the manual record (or whatever I want to do), I should be able to tell it to lose the other scheduled recordings and focus on the manual (or vice versa), and then stop getting the notification.

meekell_alpha_0_2_6 Release Notes:

* Fixed: Popup doesn't go away after picking conflict resolution option.
* If "show_mouse_icons" is true navigation arrows will be visible in the guide.
* Grey "REC" icon is displayed in the guide if the show is a favorite or manual recording scheduled.
Okay I noticed that selecting the option wouldn't close the conflicts popup completely. This may of been the problem some of you were having. Try this, let me know how it works.

weather

Hi everyone - Dumb question, but where do you configure the postcode for the weather? And is it in weather.com format eg: USCA0090

This is already pretty much fully usable for me already. I'm loving it

mlbdude/weather_zip= yourzipcode in the .properties file. Make sure to shutdown sage before editing the properties file otherwise it won't stick. Eventually all of the customization settings will be changeable from the settings menu.

ok two things
I tried coping my weather icons to the teex lan or whatever it is folder
and I still cannot get weather icons
I installed weather with the SageMCE
and configured it from there but cannot get icons to work in yours

second on preview window

I think when you decide to do this
I think you should keep a consistent size to the window
I really like the large preview window used in the guide (this reminds me of Dish Network box hehe)
also keeping the position of the window constant
I would think this could be worked in and would look really nice
perhaps shortening the pop out bubble it fit a preview in ????? for the main menu

Good news...It's not ghosting or any other kind of problem. It's a drop shadow that seems to be defaulted on some things. I'm getting rid of all the drop shadows as I see them. So if you see it today it could be gone tomorrow...

If you put the icons in a directory named "weather" and place this in the "stvs\teehan-lax" directory and remove the "mlbdude/right_image_root=some\\path this should work. This is the default directory. You should be able to specify any directory by changing the property entry above to point the the parent directory of the weather folder. Make sure you have your weather images in the "weather" folder (very important). I just tested the default way I mentioned above and it worked great as soon as I restarted sage. There's no smoke and mirrors here. It does work.

This is a little cryptic, but I think you are saying that it would be cool to have the preview in the flyout menu on the home page. Hmmm....

Have there been any updates to your fine STV lately meekell? I'm using it on the client in our PC room, and I've about got the WAF I want from the pvr system with this skin .

meekell,

You've flat out floored me yet again on the progress of this one! I've been kinda out of the loop with my PVR lately (re-doing the XP embedded build of the server) so I haven't been able to contribute. Should be 'back' soon though!

I really like the addition of the horizontal scroll bar in the music section. It seems to 'fit' better with the rest of the screen. The .stv wars are certainly heating up. This one definately has my vote!

Now THAT's what I call service . Now I've got to go home and work on my MCE remote & girder setup, once that's done, stick this on and I think my other half will finally be happy (well, that is if I can figure out why the system seems to be kind of slow in response after I start playing a recording or livetv. It seems to skip and jump right after, and I can't use the ff or rw at all without it just completely going crazy).

wow .. i think this is now my new default theme!

request: any chance you can make it so that in the show listings, it shows episode names instead of show names over and over?

ie
SURVIVOR
->SURVIVOR
->SURVIVOR
->SURVIVOR

you only get show details once you click on the item.

more informative if it is like this:

SURVIVOR
->EPISODE NAME BLAH BLAH
->EPISODE NAME KLJSDKLFJ ALSDKFJ
->EPISODE NAME SDKLFJKL

etc.

2nd request: i don't use the DVD/PICTURES/MUSIC LIBRARIES (I use Meedio) any chance you can have an option to disable unused top menu options?

thanks again. great, well designed theme!
