And, of course, HD Cable with PVR capability is *STILL* not available to us here in Pleasanton. But the word is Comcast is rolling out their Microsoft-based/Motorola 6412 dual-tuner DVRs on Nov. 30th. My HTPC days, for other than DVD playback, may be numbered...
Doubtfull

Let's try to break this into pieces... Maybe if we could work throught this a bit at a time we could get somewhere...

Let's assume that you have the .ts files on your computer (however you manage to get them there). Can Sage do anything with them? Lets call that step 1. It is not tied to any single source of file.

I have a MyHD card and 6208 so I will stick to those, but I think the following would be applicable for most others as well...

Phase 2
MyHD has its own scheduled recording application. How hard would it be to create a dummy encoder device in sage with it's own channel listing. The recording schedule for this encoder would be made available as a text file. Then a simple app could translate this to the cards scheduling application.

6208 - Define capture device with channel list. Control recording via Sage front end using IR or serial. Place holder file put into sage directory. Secondary application used to import into placeholder.

Step 3 - Utilize HD cards or Firewire connected tuners to seemlessly integrate just as current SD devices do... Nirvana...

I'm going to bed now...
