I'm just curious if you ever found a solution to your issue with stuttering playback on "live" tv for HD PVR recordings? I'm having the same issue where pausing or skipping back in the buffer will allow for smooth playback, but the initial playback is a problem.
I tried the "videoframe/local_encoding_to_playback_delay=1000" property and thought that it helped on the first channel tune, but the stuttering seems to return after that.
