How to customize original MVP software?

hey matt hope you can help me. the idea of the MVP client is awesome good job man. alas its not for me. I do not want sage on the downstairs tv :-) its for me not for anyone else to goof with :-) my mvp is just to allow everyone else in the house see what I recorded already on my system in case the tivo downstairs could not get it etc..

all I want is this. skip forwrd 30 backward 10 and a LIST view of files instead of the totally dumb and slow thumbnail view that MVP uses stock

is there a way for me to alter the MVP's original software to do this ?? I am asking you only since you made a client you might know or know of resources on how I can edit the existing client for the MVP's to do the above

I also can not run service mode (makes my sage setup VERY unstable) and even if I could I do not want them accessing my UI since then they might decide to CANCEL a recording cause they want to watch something else etc.. (happens on the tivo alllll the time :-) so Only I access my sage :-)

Go check out www.GBpvr.com. It is a free PVR software and the menu system allows you to not show features that you don't want people to see. This might work in your situation.

nono I like sage and it does multi tuner and is very stable

I am looking for a client modification for MVP not sage !! (I have found ways to edit sage to almost near perfection !!!)

the MVP software however is horrible :-) from an interface perspective. very slow :-)

Sage I am happy with (will have my mce500 tommorrow if all goes well 3 tuner heaven) media MVP interface I am not so happy with :-)

mvp does JUST what I want lets them PLAY files and nothing else but play files. its perfect and works well. I do not want to build another computer for the family room thats why I got the MVP :-)

I just want to "change" the mvp interface a bit :-)

Have a look here and here for information about changing the HTML files of the Hauppauge original MVP software.
