Problem with UNC paths while SageTV service enabled

I am using a 200gig disk in my server as one of the video disk of sagetv for tv recordings. Everything is working perfectly (gigabit) no stuttering even when whatching a show and recording two of them.
I only have a problem with booting the HTPC while the server is in standby mode. It will take a few seconds for the server to start, but the SageTV service process is very impatient and will hang while booting. As a consequence the HTPC won't start. When the server is already running, the HTPC will boot without any problem.

Is there a solution for this problem?
Is there any option for the SageTV service to try a little longer to connect to the disk?

I have tried the option startup_delay=10000 (instead of 0) in the sagetv properties file. Unfortunately the Sagetv service doesn't use this option.
Is it possible for the service to make use of this delay option? This way the server will get time to resume from standby. For me this would be very helpfull, but meaby also for other people?
