suddenly not recording

I have a PVR 250 and PVR 150...single card working now for a year, put the second tuner in about a month ago...everything has been working fine until a couple of days ago.

When I try to record a show it appears to be working..shows up in the 'sage recordings' menu...once the show is over and I check back in that menu, it is gone..I can't seem to find the saved show anywhere...

same thing when I try to record two shows at once, both show up in 'sage recordings' while they are recording, then hiola, gone once the show is over...

disclaimer: 4-year old has been known to get a hold of the remote and mash the buttons...this could definately be the cause.

HELP!

What version are you running? When it is recording, check the video dir -- is the recording all going to a single file, or are there multiple parts, with some blocks missing? Perhaps it isn't recording the whole show correctly & it is all getting thrown out afterwards as a result. Try setting seeker/clear_partials_and_unwanted_when_ir_off=false in the properties file to see what remains when it is done recording.

Maybe some hardware is going bad, or some software/driver update is causing a conflict.

I am using 2.2.4

when I record, each program is saved to its own file

If it were a H/W problem (ie. one of the PVRs) wouldn't one still record? unless both were having problems, which I would think is rare

...at first I thought it may be drive space (or lack thereof)...not enough space, so Sage erases recordings to free up space for time shifting (is this how it works?)...anyway, I erased some movies to free up space, and I am still experiencing the problem.

Is there a recommended Haupaug driver version for the 250/150?

I will try that property setting you mentioned and report back.

thanks!!!

Is this for live TV? Yes, those are supposed to be deleted shortly after the show is over, but if these are favs or manual recordings, they should not be deleted.

Oh... see the section titled "Automatic Cleanup of Live TV" on p. 188 of the v2.1 manual (appendix C). By default it is auto-deleted unless you set that property or have Intelligent Recording turned on. If you want to save an unscheduled show that you are watching live, use the Record command to turn it into a Manual Recording.
