OnDemand

I'm looking at setting up one of my home computers to act as TIVO/DVR. After reviewing the Sage spec's I'm not sure if it will allow me to use it with my ditigal cable for OnDemand or other channels outside the 125 channel capability.

I'm not sure about the "OnDemand" stuff but I have Comcast digital cable and I use SageTV to watch/record everything in the lower (2-99) and upper (100+) channels and have even listened to the music channels too... but to get SageTV to control the cable box, you need a USB-UIRT which has support built into to SageTV already.

BTW, I have 2 cable boxes being controlled by SageTV (thru the USB-UIRT) right now, looking to get a third one to add (as soon as I get to the comcast store to pick up another one)

Yes, Sage will work just fine for digital (<125) channels, you just need to use your cable box to tune them. Sage will control your box via IR or serial and record via S/Video.

However, On Demand content is a little different. The primary problem being I don't think there's any guide data (schedule) for On-Demand stuff. You'd have to schedule a timed recording to coincide with when you want the on-demand stuff played/recorded.
