Audio Compression Error ?!
Hello, I'm a new Sage customer who purchased and downloaded v2.2 just the other day, after having a successful trial with version 2.1 (the new release came out during my trial period). Now my registered version 2.2 does not work ... the Sage software starts up normally, but I get the following error when I select "LiveTV Guide" (I have it configured to always show TV preview in the guide):
There was a Capture Error in playback. Details: ERROR (-7,0x0): There was a problem setting up software audio compression. At that point the software is frozen, the error popup can't be cleared and I have to end the task in Task Manager. Any ideas? After purchasing I did an Add/Remove of the 2.1 trial and installed 2.2 fresh. I'm on Windows XP Pro SP2 on a P4 1.4 with 256 MB RAM. Tuner card is just a Pinnacle PCTV card at the moment, PVR-350 is on the way. Thanks! Dave

From the error, I take it to mean that card is a software encoder? Software encoders aren't supported in SageTV... some people have gotten them to work, but others have not. The error message sounds like it isn't getting the audio source connected properly. Maybe v2.1 handled such things differently and there is a line that sets the tuner's audio source in the properties file. (?)
When it was working before, you couldn't actually schedule a recording, correct? Just watch live TV? - Andy

That is correct, in the working version 2.1 I could watch live TV, but record/pause were disabled. The card in there at the moment does use software encoding, so maybe I was just lucky with 2.1 and something changed in 2.2 as you said. In any event, my PVR-350 card is supposed to arrive today, so we'll see if the problem goes away after I get that guy in there ...
