Werid EPG problem

I use Alans Radio Times grabber, normally, perfectly okay.

A while ago upon importing it into sage it generated a second listings of my channels. So I had to swap them with the old ones, changing the channel mapping and turning off the old ones.

I have then been grabbing okay.

However, on last nights grab, it seems that the orignal channels have been updated.
Before I go through the rigmoral of changing them all back, I thought I would post on here to see if anyone else has had this problem.

It looks like the channel ids changed thus appearing as "new" channels.
No such problem in my system.
How often/ when did you update?

It may have been a glitch for that particular day.

I did my last 2 updates on 15 and 20 March.

edgley, I did a grab this morning and had no problems.

Are you sure you haven't implemented an altchanid.txt translation file?

Also maybe the new release 2.14 has changed something that affects setups like your own.

I know the feeling.....
Had to do that everytime the grabber changed or during the initial installs/reinstalls from scratch of SageTV....

What I did though is do a printout of all channels and their channel numbers (and keep it somewhere available) so it was much quicker without going in and out of the Setup wizzard....

i may have accidentally changed the default alt channel ids file in the setup, you can either delete it to get the radio times channel ids or download http://alanbirtles.dyndns.org/xmltv/xmltv_altchids.txt and save it as AltChIds.txt in the xmltv directory to get back to the xmltv ids

and go though channel hell again?

I'll wait until the next grab and see what happens.

I like the "may have accidentally", reminds me of discusions with my old man when I was a kid
