setup wizard not detecting my radeon all-in-wonder 8500 TV Tuner

The setup wizard only give me the option of selecting the composite or s-video inputs. How do I get my Radeon TV tuner to work with SageTV?

The ATI AIW cards are not supported for SageTV; please see the SageTV System Requirements for a list of supported hardware encoder tuners.

I have to give you Kudos Andy. The same question that's plainly made clear in the Sage System Requirments asked over and over by different people yet you don't let it get to you. Guess that's why you became a Moderator! I'd be no good, likely eventually get fed up and just tell them to go buy a TIVO if they can't even read!

heh Actually, such things used to bother me... I remember when the v2 beta first came out & there were several new threads (not posts all to the same thread) all on the same day reporting that the mouse didn't work and/or there were no transport icons on the OSD... it was stated in the release notes that mouse support hadn't been added yet. I'm sure there are a few people around here who remember reading those.

But, I figure that new users don't always have time to read everything on the site & forum (I don't always have time to research everything on other forums before asking either), so it would help to simply point them to where the answer is, since there may be other things they discover in the same place. That's the same reason I sound like a broken record with page references in the manual... and there is sometimes the response of "Oh. ... There's a manual?"

I figure it's the old "teach a man to fish" concept, though I can't stand fish. They all taste like the muddy decaying water they've been swimming in. Oh, great. There's goes a new "fish" vs. "anti-fish" topic...

That reminds me... I saw chicken cooking in the oven the other day. Then I smelled fish. Finally it dawned on me: we're having chicken of the sea for dinner! (See what you get for goading me into posting late at night!? )
