Scheduling and File Naming Questions

Howdy,

I'm looking at SageTV to do my video recording. As of right now the only feature I really want is to be able to enter the name of a show, and then any time that show comes on, regardless of the tiem or channel, it will just automatically record without requiring any input from me. Can SageTV do this? Also does it keep track of which episodes it has already recorded so it doesn't record shows it has already recorded or anything like that so I don't get duplicates?

Also, how does SageTV name the files when it records shows from TV? Does it put any of the season/episode information in the file name so I can tell them apart and organize my clips or does it just use the name of the show and the date it recorded, or something else all together?

Yes, favorites will do what you want WRT recording. As for file naming, it's basically: ShowName-[EpisodeName(if Available)]-randomNumber
