SageTV render error when attempting to view channels

Hello all:

I just installed my PVR-150 PCI card and installed Sage 2.2.8. I have s-video from my DirectTV Digital Philips DSX 5500 direct to the PVR-150 card. Using the WinTV software I am able to get only one channel via s-video config.

So I install SageTV and hope I can get all of the channels to scan instead of having to manually change the channel on my digital cable box. I was able to get the channel listing for my area but when I attempt to view any particular channel I get this error:

"There was a playback error in playback: Details sage.PlaybackException: ERROR (-4,0x80040217) There was a problem rendering the video portion of the content for playback."

Does anyone know how I could correct this problem?

Thanks,
RogerWilco

If you are connecting via svideo, the tuner will be unable to change the channel -- it can only receive what the converter box outputs, just like when the box outputs an svideo signal to your TV. You will have to have some way to change the channel on the box: either manually, via serial cable, or via an IR blaster like the USB-UIRT.

If you'll provide details about your video card and Audio/Video renderer & decoders selected in Detailed Setup, maybe someone will have an idea. Try changing the video decoder and/or renderer first, though.
