getting previously recorded shows back in recorded TV

I have searched and have not found a solution. (actually what I found out was not encouraging. )
Here is what happened. OS crash. So I had to reinstall everything and I had not backed up wiz.bin (But my video directory is on a different drive so my videos are OK). Now sage brings my older TV shows in import library. Is there any way to hack wiz.bin to get the older show information (half of my alias shows are now badname mpg files ) back in sage recorded TV shows?

Thanks

No - what your search found was probably correct: unfortunately, once wiz.bin is gone, so is all the historical show data. In the future, the best thing to do would be to make regular backups of wiz.bin and/or wiz.bak onto a different drive.

Andy,

I know that it is probably covered in the FAQ's already, but I'm being lazy, and a quick scan of the FAQ did not answer it for me.

Is there any way to backup wiz.bin, etc., while keeping Sage running?

As far as I know, wiz.bak is only written when the EPG is updated & wiz.bin is probably safe to copy as long as SageTV isn't updating it. There is a link to a thread about backing up these files in the utilities list found in the SageTV Software forum - one of the files posted there might work for you.
