wrong time in SageTV

Hi,
I have this very strange problem which I don't know how to solve... the time in my SageTV software is one hour ahead of the time shown in my OS (which is the correct one). I was not able to find anywhere in Sage a place which you can set the time, and I always assumed it took the time from the OS. Any one has an idea how to sort out this problem?
Thanks!
Itay

I suspect that Java has your time zone wrong.

Go here and check if it is reporting the correct time zone.
http://www.arachnoid.com/lutusp/worldclock.html

You can force SageTV to use the correct Time zone by setting it in the sage.properties file.

time_zone=

For Eastern Time zone you would put EST.

Actually, I turned off "Synchronize with Sage Server" because every once in a while the system time would be off by a few minutes.

As soon as I told it to stop synchronizing with Sage server, the "floating time" problem went away.

Mmm... It seems like it does not care what I put in the time zone. I've put EET EST PST - it had no effect on the time - do I need to tell the program somehow to use this value instead of the Java one?

Are you making sure to shutdown SageTV before you modify the sage.properties file?

yes - both Sage and the Sage server are closed. When I recheck the properties file -the modification I've made is still there...
