I am using two Scientific Atlantic 4200's with the USB-UIRT and zone control available on the newer USB-UIRT. It works fine. However I do not use the wintv-500 I am using wintv 250and 350. You post implies only one cable box. I assume you will be wanting to use the dual tuner 500 with two cable boxes? If so I believe their is an extray piece of hardware required ( from Hauppauge)to do that.

You only need the extra piece if you HAVE to have 2 sets of RCA ins. I use the 1 rca in available and the other I use the coax on channel 3. Not a huge difference in quality IMO. I've run out of PCI slots in my case to be able to use the extra piece anyways.
