Unhappy Running SageClient on 640x480

Hey I am running SagetvClient v2.2.8 and able to connect to my sagetv server fine when running at 800x600 and everything seem to be working great. When i hook it up to my TV it has to be at 640x480 and once i get it up on the TV i start sageclient v2.2.8 it comes up with the loading screen for about 2 secs and then closes and nothing happens after that. Please help i need to to work i made it for him for his birthday just trying to be a good son...lol

Thanks,
Shibb Master

Try edit the SageClient.properties
ui/last_win_height=480
ui/last_win_width=720
to
ui/last_win_height=480
ui/last_win_width=640
to see if that helps but I wouldn't count on it.

Yeah me too. One of mine has to run at 640x480 (can't do 720x480) and it's fine with Cayars 17.

I run my main SageTV box at 640x480 with no problems. I'd venture to guess the problem here is video driver related. Take a look at the display properties and see what you can tweak on there. Perhaps refresh rate at the 640x480 setting is too high. Try dropping the refresh first, then the resolution.

Hope that helps,
RedR

... after re-reading this...

Did you check the Windows Task Mangler? Is the process running? Could it be loading it to the other desktop? It should be either Primary or Cloned (I think) for it to work properly.

shibbywowdude: Look for some sort of error log file in the SageTV directory. Perhaps the video driver, DirectX, or java needs updating. (Maybe 3D Acceleration is turned on & DirectX usage is bombing out -- check the ui/accelerated_rendering=true property.)

BTW: if you right click on the SageTV window title bar, you will get a list of easily selectable window sizes to use. These can be customized with the quick_menu_sizes property. It should default to:

quick_menu_sizes=640x480,320x240

I run 640x480 all the time on my monitor for screen caps for the manual, but I have no idea how well that res would work for a TV. I just set it to the following & it worked for 800x600 too:

quick_menu_sizes=800x600,640x480,320x240
