Sage using 180+MB of memory!

I think I have a corrupted wiz.bin file.

When I load Sage it will load into about 80MB of memory. But as soon as I try to play a file, it will swap heavily to disk and grow to 180MB. I think I've read of others with a similar problem and it was linked to the wiz.bin file.

Is there a way to rebuild the wiz.bin file? Any other ideas of what could be the problem? At the moment I cannot play a file becuase the server just starts swapping to disk. If I wait it out, eventually it will stop swapping (a couple minutes), but when it comes back the show never starts. I then try to watch the show again and it start swapping all over,so in the end I cannot watch any shows.

Ideas?

I haven't read about this problem but I'm guessing you only have 128 or 256 meg of memory? You really really should put 512 meg of ram in your box. It will help performance greatly.

It may be a corrupt wiz.bin or maybe one the individual video files. (maybe) Unless you have a backup wiz from a day or two ago, you're gonna lose some info. I would get rid of wiz.bin and wiz.bak and see if the issue goes away. If you still have the issue maybe move the video files out of the directory and start moving them back until you see the issue. (Maybe I'm off on the individual file thing tho) But I would confirm the corrupt wiz.bin file first.

If I remove the wiz.bin and wiz.bak files, will Sage delete my recordings or will I just loose some of the shows info?

I don't think 256MB is an issue, I have been running this machine for ~2years with no problems. No major problems anyway

thanks,
