Question Remote tuning problem - USB UIRT drops first digit of 3-digit channels

I'm having a problem (just one!) with my new install of 2.2.8. I use a USB UIRT - both as IR receiver and blaster - to control a Motorola cable box which worked fine on Sage 2.0. Since the 2.2 install, when I attempt to tune to a 3-digit channel with the remote it drops the first digit. The first digit just doesn't appear on the cable box LED and it tunes to the last two digits. So 106 tunes to channel 6.. etc. And "channel up" to a 3-digit channel has the same effect. Tuning with the keyboard or mouse works just fine. Also, fortunately Sage's tuning to scheduled recordings works ok too.

I have tried various delay parameters to no avail and I have the "digits per channel" set to 3 in the UIRT remote control options. I have also tried using a different remote as well as the Hauppauge remote via a PVR250 IR receiver and it behaves the same.

I have the feeling I'm missing some basic configuration option, but darned if I can see it. I don't use Girder; haven't seen the need to complicate my life with it up to now. Any ideas appreciated... my wife is back from vacation in a few days and it has to work by then
