Back-to-Back Padding Removal & Multiple Tuners

I know I was confused earlier on favorites vs. manual recordings & the use of padding ... but think I have it straight now. My favorites padding is being applied as intended.

That having been said, however, I have noticed that Sage seems to consider favorites to still be "back to back" even when it has assigned their recording to seperate tuners.

Real example: A & B are favorites, each with 5 minutes pre & post padding. Prior to air time last night, I noticed (per the Scheduled Recordings display) that Sage had them auto-scheduled back to back, but on separate tuners (I assume to accomodate the padding request ...). Program A is scheduled for recording on channel 52, tuner #1, from 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Program B for channel 52, tuner #2, from 9:00PM to 11:00PM.

This morning, the file creation & modification timestamps indicate that the padding at the back to back time point on both programs had not been applied (program A showed creation time of 6:55PM & last modification at 9:00PM, program B showed creation time of 9:00PM & last modification at 11:05PM) even though they had been recorded using different tuners

It would be nice if back to back detection behavior, for padding removal purposes, was tuner aware and the padding left intact when the favorites are being recorded from different tuners.

What you are talking about is a form of soft padding that automatically kicks in when there is recording time available.... which I wouldn't mind having either. So, the back to back padding removal when the show is on the same channel doesn't mean that it will remove the padding when needed nor that the recordings have to be done by the same tuner; when that option is set it always gets removed so that the recordings don't overlap and cause a conflict. This allows the 2 shows to be recorded by a single tuner OR other shows to be recorded at the same time when there are multiple tuners.
