Can I play .ts files with SageTV?

My apologize to anyone who thinks I should be able to figure this out by searching this forum. If there is an answer here, I can not find it.

At any rate, I have SageTV 2.2, I have .ts files I have recorded using the R5000 modded DirecTV box, I am running Windows 2000 on a 2.4ghz P4 with 2 gig of Ram. I currently watch these files with Theatertek.

When attempting to play these files within Sage, Sage attempts to open the file, but then reports an error with playback (I apologize, I do not have the error code in front of me).

Am I wasting my time? Or is there a way to get this to work?

3.0 should play them fine, I watched a few recordings last night.

V2.2 does not have support for .ts files. The V3 beta does.

In 2.2.8 I think transport stream playback was broken, program streams played fine though. In one of the earlier 2.2.* versions, they played, but badly on my system.

I guess I will wait a bit for version 3 bugs to be worked out. I hate being amonst the first to a party .
