Automatic DivX Encoding and Automatic Commercial Removal?

I've read some of the how-to's on how to hack the STV install to automatically re-encode the mpeg2 files to smaller divx files. My question is, other than manually editing out the commercials and re-encoding the files my self with adobe-preimer etc, is there a way to strip the commercials and re-encode to divx with sage? or am I stuck doing it manually? I have comskip and such installed to read the files and be able to skip when viewing, but it doesnt actually remove them from the file.

Do a search for comclean on the GB-PVR web site.

That will use the comskip files to cut the mpg file automatically, once you've got the cut mpeg file, there are a load of ways discussed on these forums to convert to AVI.

Cheers
