Forget v3beta issues, SageTV Lite is officially released supporting software encoder! (bundled with ConvertX PX-100U on Sage site) Interesting Sage says offers the full version of SageTV Media Center to Plextor's customers. Hmmm, they can't mean official release v2.X since it doesn't support software encoding tuners and v3 not release so must either mean v3beta or a version we aren't privy to. For the record I don't really care!
Hmmm, what about multiple PX-100Us? Requirement for one is 2.4GHz P4. With the minimum CPU will it have the horsepower to playback while recording with the single 100U? But of course I went with Sage long ago for multiple tuner support. Hmmm, how much CPU power will it take to record at a high quality with say 5 PX-100Us and playback to say 3 Clients?
I'll stick with hardware encoders thank you very much! Heck, a single PVR500 (with 2 hardware encoders) would cost $50+ less than 2 PX-100Us anyway.
Hang onto your support shorts, this could get ugly!
