How to retrieve License Key?

Hi -

I own a SageTV license and have had to rebuild my pc. I came to the SageTV website in hopes of finding a process to request the key to be sent to me. Unfortunately, I have not found a self service process for that.

How do I go about requesting my key to be resent to the email address on record?

Thank you,
David Steinman

Email support, they should be able to help you. Actually might want to try:
orders@sagetv.com

Hey Stanger!

I sent an email to 'support' this morning and still haven't heard anything. BTW, this is the machine you provided me some pointers on before I bought it.

Do you think 'orders' is actually a different set of people?

Thanks,
David

Yes, the "orders" email is the one you want, but you may not hear back over the weekend.

Thanks ... I sent them an email. They really should have an automated retrieval system. Especially for those of us with new machines who can't wait to see everything working!

Even w/o an automatic retrieval system, it really shouldn't be an issue, since you can run the software in trial mode on a new PC w/o anything being disabled, except for a new beta w/o a trial available. You would normally hear back before the trial period expires.

Do what I did, I forwared my key to my hotmail and yahoo mail accounts - always available to me anywhere and anytime I would need it. I also keep it in an Excel spreadsheet.

Microsoft does not have a "get my product key" available on their website for XP, so I don't think Frey should have one for Sage IMO.

Good idea keeping keys in a web based email account. Better yet, I live by a PDA - I should be keeping all my keys on the PDA.

As for 'MS doesn't do it so you don't think Frey should do it'. First, Frey is not on par (company size) with Microsoft. I see Frey as a more personal, consumer friendly company (i've met most of them at CES and can attest to that). Most all other software I purchase from companies of this size, provide an ability to retrieve license keys. I did it with a couple this morning alone. I think this is a good, customer friendly process to consider. It seems to be completely secure as I just provide 'ID' and it sends the license key to an email account on file. I cannot tell any of these where i want to send it to.

BTW, I found the email i printed that had the registry codes on it! :-)

Regards,
David
