HELP: No Sound & frozen Video

At random moments while watching "TV" through sage. The picture freezes and I lose sound. Eventually the picture starts moving again, but it freezes every few seconds and the sound never comes back. It only returns after I reboot win xp. Just closing and restarting windows won't do it. This happens while watching both pre-recorded shows and "live" content. Once the sound disappears I can't get sound from my computer at all. Even when shutting down no sound comes out.

I am using a win xp professional machine with athlon xp 1900, 512 mb ram, asus motherboard with onboard sound card, Radeon 9600 video card, and Sage TV ver 2.2.3 with Cayars 17.stv

I have been running this version of sage since it first came out. I had no problems until recently.
