P4 motherboard.. recommend CPU & RAM

Due to some contracting work, I recently got a new MSI 875P motherboard for free. So I've decided to make this my dedicated SageTV HTPC. I already have many of the required components, but I do need CPU & RAM.

PC must be able to handle DivX & MPEG-4 playback. Can a Celeron do this? Or a 1.8GHz P4? Also, can I get by w/ 512MB ram, or do I need 1GB?

Trying to be a price conscious as possible.

As rule the more CPU speed the better more so when come to handle DivX & MPEG-4 playback.
Yes 512MB ram but when come to game the more the better
I also go for min nVidia Geforce 6200 or 6600
why not go for a Celeron 335 (2.8GHz) or take up a notch to D 345 (3.06GHz)
