Talking The Fall Frenzy hath started!!!

Well I just noticed that Prison Break showed up in the EPG so I set it to record... this starts my fall frenzy. With V3.XX beta out (and hopefully a public release soon) it's sure to be a doozie. I don't plan on installing any versions of V3.XX until a very stable version comes out.

(defintition of frenzy: state of violent mental agitation... i.e. how I felt last fall)

I had lots of headaches last fall when my wiz.bin file kept getting corrupted. Never did figure it out, just installed with the latest stable wiz file (loosing a month of recording info, cause I didn't do backups regularly) and haven't looked back. Well that is until the 300 watt psu gave up about the same time... it was chugging along quite nicely powering an AMD 3.0Ghz board, 1Gb RAM, an Nvidia 5200 video card, 5 250MCE pvrs, 4 250GB hard drives, and a DVD drive. Then all hell broke loose and weird crap started to happen, lots of BSOD, missing files after reboot (but would show back up after the next reboot), icons would disappear fo no reason, upon reboots xp would do a "recovery" of files (taking up to an hour to complete some times)... an on and on.... NIPPED all those problems in the butt with a brand new 600 watt power supply! HOORAY!

Sorry, felt I should vent about my hardware problems a little bit, hopefully more people can read this and learn that SageTV as a program is NOT always the faulty "leg on the table", It took me a while to figure out that my system was firstly VERY under-powered, and secondly the psu was dying. In the end SageTV hasn't choked since... well except for the usual anomalies (FF/REW Nvidia bug etc.)

(please, no naive jokes... I took lots of ibuprofen for my silly under-powered psu mistake... I think that was pain enough!)

Here's to a brand new SageTV filled Fall!!!

screw commercials, I'm going the SageTV way!!!!!
