How Long Is The SageTV License Good For?

80 bucks is a lot of money, so I'm wondering how long does the license last? One year? Lifetime? I've been using the trial and I like SageTV a lot, but I'm not sure I want to pay 80 bucks a year for it. I'm just wondering how long the license is good for. Thanks in advance!

The license is good for the current version (ver 2) life. Sage has stated that V3 will be a free upgrade for V2 users. After that I have no idea.

Hope you enjoy

Not that this in any way represents what will happen in the future, but this is just to give you an idea of how they think of their customers.
All of us who bought SageTV back in the 1.x days two years ago, still have valid licenses, and they will continue to be valid into 3.0.

I'm relatively sure that if they ever decided to charge us for an upgrade, it would be reasonable though.

I'm hoping I never have to find out though...
