Cannot Play VCD
I am trying to play a VCD through SageTV. The VCD was created in Nero. I am able to play the VCD in Windows Media Player 10, Intervideo WinDVD 2000, and Divx 6 with no problems. However, SageTV does not recognize the VCD as a DVD or a video file. I've added .dat to the sagetv.properties file while sagetv was shut down so that the seeker video line looks like this:
seeker/video_library_import_filename_extensions=.mpg,.mpeg,.mp2,.mpeg2,.mpe, .avi,.divx,.mpg1,.ts,.dat After doing that and making sure that the change in the file was saved and not overwritten, SageTV still doesnt recognize the VCD. Here are my Video settings: Video Render - Overlay MPEG2 Video Decoder Filter - SageTV MPEG Decoder Filter DVXA MPEG Mode - Default DXVA Deinterlacing - Default DScalar Deinterlacing Filter - Disabled Here are my DVD Settings: DVD-ROM Drive - Yes DVD Video Render - Overlay All the rest of the settings are set to default Thanks for your help, Rotello |

AFAIK, SageTV does not, sadly support the following formats: VCD, SVCD, CVD, or any of the variants (eg xVCD).
SageTV only supports the DVD format. I remember asking the same question last year... My fix was to copy the .mpg file to a import folder and play them that way. Good luck!
